Turk's Cap Feeder?

Could this little Lepidoptera larva and its friends be feeding so ferociously?
If so, what should be done? Most of the Turk's Cap leaves are gone.

I haven't had time to ID them, but looks like the exact same thing on my swamp mallow (related to turk's cap). Whatever they are, they're too voracious for me. I tore off the most affected leaves and I tried to squoosh the rest. Looks like they'll defoliate a plant in no time flat!
