This weed seemed to control my phone yesterday.

Do any of you Cherokee Master Gardeners know the common name of this winter annual? It is Lamium amplexicaule but what is the common name?

I have been taught that a good photo will likely have its subject make up 80% of the frame. It looks like power pole makes up 80% of this photo. Yes, sometimes I know better than I do.

I think this is "henbit", but I've never seen it growing on a power pole.

Joe, your photo makes this look like something we would want in our gardens, but I've done all I can to keep it from seeding. Wayne

Last week I had one bee keeper praise it. University of Georgia recommend it for bee keepers. Most of the calls I have had were people wishing they did not have it.

Henbit is the name!

True, even master gardeners rarely see it high on a pole.
